New stock, made a set of double set triggers and then played around putting a scope on it. I hope it is a good fit, but if not, I can grind it down or build it up with a known alloy and retemper it. The Spanish arsenal rebuilt them in 1916 and shortened them to carbine length. They were cheap and the dealer was selling the cheap so I swung a deal and bought the entire tableful of them, about 8,000 rounds, Fun bullets made from ballistic plastic and quite accurate out to about 100 meters which is their intended use (limited) but the velocity is just shy of OMG. The 1916 Spanish Mauser was originally built as a 7MM long barreled 1893 Mauser. they were in 500 round plastic wrapped battle packs. So.Ī number of years previous to this I had purchased an obscenely large quantity of 7.62 Nato plastic training rounds. It measures 37.30-inches in length and does not come with any of its metal hardware. ![]() I stumbled upon one stuck back in a closet and has a bad case of boredom. The good 1916 Models are pretty plentiful and not terribly expensive/ They are not really my thing and I have had a few. TRAP55 is 100% correct! The later "large ring" Mausers are fine. ![]()
